Euro 2020 Finals encounter, with Croatia taking on Czechia on Friday the 18th of June, 2021, at Hampden Park, in Glasgow.

Croatia knew they had a touch mission on their debut in this tournament visiting England a few days ago, there were parts of the game during which the two teams looked… on par, but the English scored in the 57th minute and that goal proved enough to earn them all three points, leaving the Croats empty-handed. Their current form reads; LLDWW. No point for them, but they have already played the – more than just theoretically – toughest of the three games in this group.

Besides, even four points (under certain circumstances, even as few as three) should be enough to earn any team a ticket to the last 16, meaning that Croatia are still very much alive in the fight for qualification despite losing on their debut. Coach Zlatko Dalić played a 4-3-3 formation against England, with Rebić, Kramarić and Perišić up front. Only the last one finished the game.

Czechia visited Scotland on Monday for their debut in the tournament, opened the scoring late in the first half, but it’s their second goal in the 52nd minute that will be remembered… for decades to come, as you don’t “normally” see goals scored practically from the center of the pitch, let alone in finals of major tournaments. That 0-2 did not change in the remainder of the game,

the Czechs turned themselves into massive favourites to qualify for the last 16, without necessarily finishing first in their group. Their current form reads; WWLLD. Coach Jaroslav Šilhavý chose a 4-2-3-1 formation against Scotland, with Schick up front. We already knew he is an awesome player, but his two goals against Scotland, especially the… wild second one, made him known even to people who probably had not paid enough attention to him before last Monday’s game.

Croatia and Czechia have met just three times in the past and only one of those games had a winner, Croatia. The other two matches ended in a draw. Be reminded, they met in the Euro 2016 finals as well, in France, a 2-2 draw (group stage).

A 2-2 draw is predicted at full-time.
Date: Friday, 18th of June, 2021.
Venue: Hampden Park
Kick-off time: 18:00 (GMT+2).
