Euro 2020 Match Day 2 fixture, Hungary vs. France is scheduled for 14:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, the 19th of June at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium.

The Magyars failed to pick up any point when they lined up against Portugal on Tuesday, the 15th - losing concentration towards to end of the game to concede three times in less than 10 minutes. Unofficial man-of-the-match, Hungary's Gulacsi who was in goal made a number of incredible saves to keep his side in contention to pick up a point but the defense eventually let him down. A huge deflection on Raphael Guerreiro’s shot (84’) saw goalkeeper, Gulacsi watching as the ball spun into the

far corner of the net before Cristiano Ronaldo (87’ P.) doubled Portugal’s lead from the penalty spot. Later on, Hungary saw themselves three goals down after some suspect defending left them exposed at the back. – Leaving Ronaldo (90’) picking up his brace in a fashion similar to what you would see on the training pitch. Hungary’s form reads: DWWWDL as they remain at the very bottom of Group F with no points and a G.D., of –3 from 0W, 0D & 1L. A 5—4—1 formation looks likely from the Italian Marco Rossi, coach of Hungary.

France however, picked up a 1-0 win over Germany despite none of their player's name on the score-sheet. It was Germany’s Mats Hummels (20’ O.G) who scored the only goal of the game as he put a failed attempt to clear the ball past Manuel Neuer while trying to prevent the on-rushing Kylian Mbappe from reaching it.

The Germans staged attacks but were cut short by the resilience of the French defense which saw countless players behind the ball – intermittently surging forward only to mount counter attacks and retreating quickly to cover their lines. The remarkable performance leaves the Blues with a form that reads: DWWWWW. Having 3 points after 1W, 0D & 0L, French coach, Didier Deschamps will be looking for another win to seal his side’s chances of qualifying for the knockout stages. A 3—5—2 formation is expected from France as they return on Match Day 2.

Only one meeting has been recorded in recent times and it ended in a 2-1 win for France on the 31st of May 2005.
