Italy vs Wales Live Streaming Euro

Euro 2020 Finals encounter, with Italy taking on Wales on Sunday the 20th of June, 2021, at Stadio Olimpico, in Rome.

Italy were the first team to secure a spot in the last 16, as, after beating Turkey 3-0 on their debut, they repeated the same score against Switzerland in their second game. If they win or even just draw, they finish at the top of the table and will be facing the runner-up of Group C in the first knockout round. If they lose they drop second in the table, behind Wales,

and will be facing the runner-up of Group B. Detail: in both cases, they will be moving from Rome. The Italian capital city has one more Euro 2020 game to host, a quarterfinal, but their national team cannot be in that game. Italy’s current form reads; WWWWW. Coach Roberto Mancini played a 4-3-3 formation against Switzerland the other day, with Immobile as number 9 and Insigne with Berardi on the wings. Locatelli scored Italy’s first two goals(!) and Immobile added the cherry on top, the third goal, in the 89th minute.

Wales registered a super important 2-0 win over Turkey in their second match, after drawing 1-1 with Switzerland on their debut. When these lines were written, Friday afternoon, the Welsh were sure of a top-3 finish in their group, not 100% safe yet that they will be in the last 16. Be reminded though, five years ago, in France, there were teams that qualified for the last 16 as third in their group, despite earning just three points from their group matches. In other words,

even before Friday’s and Saturday’s games, it felt almost certain that Wales’ four points already had them in the last 16. Besides, they have awesome chances of finishing second. They are on four points having a +2 goal difference, while third-placed Switzerland are on just one point and a -3 goal difference. To drop third, Wales need to lose, for example, 3-0, and at the same time, Switzerland need to beat Turkey by at least two goals, maybe even three. Wales’ current form reads; WDDLW.

Coach Robert Page played a 4-1-4-1 formation against Turkey the other day, with Moore up front. Bale was fantastic, he may have missed – badly – a penalty in the 61st minute, but his assists to Ramsey for Wales’ 0-1 in the 42nd minute and Roberts’ for their 0-2 deep into added time were… sublime.

Italy and Wales have met nine times in the past, the Italians have celebrated seven victories, the Welsh two, while interestingly, they are yet to draw. Goals in total, 23-5(!) for Italy. They have met in Euro qualifiers before, but not in Euro finals. More recently, they faced each other in the Euro 2004 qualifiers; Wales won 2-1 at home, but got embarrassed 4-0 in Italy.

A 2-0 victory for Italy is predicted at full-time.
Date: Sunday, 20th of June, 2021.
Venue: Stadio Olimpico
