Portugal are 3rd in the group standings, having 3 points, and a goal difference of +1 after 1W, 0D & 1L. An attacking 3—4—2—1 formation with no one else but Ronaldo playing ahead as he searches for his 108th goal  with the quest of breaking another record to become FIFA World’s top scorer for country.








Meanwhile, France picked up a single point after the 1-1 draw against Hungary. Attila Fiola (45’) scored the first goal of the game before a leveller through Barcelona forward, Antoine Griezmann (66') after the break. They remain 1st in the group being the only side to remain unbeaten at the end of Match 



Day 2. France have not lost a single game in six international appearances across all competitions: WWWWWD. They have 4 points in the group and a goal difference of +1 after a win and a draw: 1W, 1D & 0L. Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele picked a knee injury on Match Day 2 and has been ruled out for the length of this tournament. France’s coach, Didier Deschamps had praises for the resilient display shown by the Hungarians despite coming to terms that his side picked up only a point from that fixture. On Wednesday, he will be looking for a win when he lines up his famous 4—3—1—2 formation on Match Day 3.


The last time both sides met, France defeated Portugal by a lone goal. That fixture took place on the 14th of November, 2020. Before that tie, both countries played a goalless draw. An earlier fixture will ended in a 1-0 win for Portugal.
